Hopeful Doghouse can be re-opened

THE FORMER licensee of Dundee’s Doghouse music venue, Sarah Hill, said last night she is, “very hopeful that a way can be found to re-open The Doghouse,” writes Alan Wilson, Rocktalk writer.

Ms Hill said, following meetings with her legal advisors and Punch Taverns, “We are however working with Punch Taverns on a plan which we believe will be successful. Watch this space and keep fingers crossed!”

Meanwhile, a statement from the pub on their Bebo blog said a rescue package was under discussion which, Ms Hill hoped, would be suitable to all parties.

A member of staff at the Doghouse continued, “Dundee City councillors had no knowledge in advance of the impending action by their finance department.

“We have received strong support from individual councillors for a rescue plan suitable for the administrators.”

Ms Hill also offered continued heartfelt thanks for all the support she and her staff continue to receive from customers and musicians from across the country.
