Golf coaching for budding young Tigers

ASPIRING YOUNG golfers bidding to become the next Tiger Woods can now take up the sport thanks to a new junior academy in Perth.

The academy has been introduced in association with North Inch golf course and will be hosted by golf professional Colin Roberts.

Throughout the summer holidays boys and girls aged 8-16 can take to the North Inch course for a comprehensive introduction to golf.

Colin said, “The success of players like Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam has made golf extremely popular with young people, but the problem for most has been how to get started in the game.

“Now for the first time at the North Inch an exciting junior golf programme is available to young people, which not only makes it easy for them to start playing golf but also helps them to progress to a level where they can compete with other youngsters or simply enjoy playing a healthy, relaxing sport for the rest of their lives.”

The summer camps are for junior members and non-members alike. Information can be picked up from the starters’ box at the North Inch.

Everyone who enrols will learn the rules and etiquette of golf, as well as how to play it.

Participants will take part in fun activities and mini-competitions to ensure that the experience is about having a good time playing golf.

There is also coaching for adults of all ages and abilities—Colin will provide group or individual tuition.

For details on the courses call the starters at the North Inch on 01738 636481.
