MONTHS OF hard work and dedication were put to the test yesterday as athletes gathered for this year’s Glenrothes Road Running Festival.
Despite the dismal conditions there was a strong turnout for the 27th year of the event. The high attendance is good news for charities, with the event thought to raise thousands of pounds every year for good causes.
As well as the traditional distance runs, three biathlons were also staged, as well as the ever-popular junior jog on the Fife Institute running track.
With hundreds of runners pounding the streets of Glenrothes, many roads in the centre of the town had been closed. However, there were no reports of traffic disruption.
