Testimonial golf day for King

BRECHIN CITY winger Charlie King tees off his testimonial season on Sunday with a golf outing at Brechin Golf Club.

Players, ex-players, officials and supporters will battle it out over the 18-hole course with a shotgun start at 2pm

A number of other events are planned thoughout the year, including a dinner in Perth and an evening for supporters in Brechin.

Anyone wishing to donate to “Chucky’s” testimonial fund or donate raffle or auction items for future events should contact the testimonial committee.

King began his senior career with St Johnstone and played for Ross County and Stirling Albion before he signed from Livingston in July 2001.

The forward is currently City’s longest-serving player and has been a fans’ favourite since joining the club.

He didn’t feature in the side as much as he would have wanted last season but is looking to push for a regular place in the starting XI this year.
