Pupils step back in time

THIRD AND fourth-year pupils at Kirkland High School in Methil learned about the first world war yesterday in a visit from The Black Watch Museum in Perth.

Curator Major Ronnie Proctor and Fraser Brown visited the school to teach standard grade pupils about the Great War, tying in with their study of the period.

The pair delivered a presentation on life in the trenches and brought items from the period, including clothing and decommissioned weapons.

Principal curriculum teacher Avril McNeill, who organised the visit, said, “We were delighted to have had the opportunity to watch a presentation delivered by The Black Watch Museum on the Great War to our standard grade history classes, and in particular with reference to Kirkland’s local area.”
