Hotel opts for festive games ban

ONE OF Scotland’s oldest hotels will be banning computer games this festive season in a bid to restore “traditional family values.”

Guests staying at the famous Crieff Hydro will be asked to leave all games consoles at home and instead urged to spend some “quality time” trying out new activities.

Manager of the family-run hotel—and father-of-four—Stephen Leckie hopes the ban will make for a fun Christmas for all.

He said, “I’m well aware of the role that computer games play in youngsters’ lives and they do undoubtedly have a place.

“However, with Christmas holidays being the ideal opportunity to spend quality time with our families, we’re asking our younger guests to set their consoles and games aside for just a few days of the year and, instead, sample some new activities they may never have tried before.”

Activities will range from traditional ceilidhs and family quizzes to Highland games and archery.

The high ropes course, climbing wall and laser quest will also feature.
