THE ONGOING work to improve the environs of the Bruce Road community resource flat in Arbroath took a further step yesterday when Arbroath Rotarians handed over and installed two garden benches.

The committee which runs the flat recently applied to the Rotary Club for help in sprucing up the garden area and the result was the creation of the two benches where—weather permitting—local people can sit down for a chat and find out more about the services available to them.

Angus Council has also promised to erect fencing to prevent the gardens being used as a short cut and to deter rubbish dumping.
