Freuchie floral commitment recognised

A woman who has led efforts to keep Freuchie blooming for 20 years has been thanked for her hard work. Joan Cran has stepped down as leader of Freuchie in Flower, the group she co-founded in 1989. Gifts were presented to Mrs Cran by fellow founding member, Daisy McGlashan, and Freuchie Community Council chairman Patrick Laughlin. Pictured by a boat flowerbed are Patrick Laughlin and Mrs Cran. As a result of Freuchie in Flower’s campaign, the village received a silver award this year from Beautiful Fife. Joan and the other founding members set up the group after the community came fifth out of five north-east Fife entries in Fife’s best kept town and village competition. Joan will continue working with Freuchie in Flower.
