The View named best live band

DUNDEE ROCKERS The View were crowned the best live band in Scotland at a prestigious award ceremony in Glasgow last night.

The band were presented with the accolade at the Tartan Clef awards, at the end of a week which saw the death of lead singer Kyle Falconer’s mother. Elizabeth Falconer passed away on Tuesday and the death is said to have left her 22-year-old son distraught.

Other winners included Fifer King Creosote, Patrick Doyle and Mott the Hoople.

The View’s roller-coaster week will continue tonight when they play one of the biggest gigs of their career at the Homecoming Live: The Final Fling at the SECC in Glasgow.
