DUNDEE HAVE been boosted by the news that the knee injuries suffered by both Eric Paton and Sean Higgins are not serious, writes Ian Roache.
The Dark Blues duo were sent for scans after limping off against Inverness Caley Thistle in the Alba Challenge Cup final last Sunday, and it was feared they would face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
However, doctors have discovered that their knee ligaments have just suffered bruising so there is a chance both players could be back for Tuesday’s trip to Ross County.
Manager Jocky Scott said, “It is good news because the scans showed up some bruising but nothing serious.
“They have not trained but might be able to do something over the weekend.”
He added, “In Eric’s case it is very good news because we thought he might be out for a while.
“Now, though, there is a chance both of them might make it for Ross County.”
Central defender Craig McKeown has also resumed light training after knee surgery.
Scott said, “Craig did the warm-up with us and then some light ball work today.
“That is the first time in months he has had a touch of the ball.”
