Dundee scored a dramatic last-gasp equaliser to take a share of the spoils against Inverness at Dens.

The first half was a tense affair with the home side enjoying a lot of possession without carving out any clear-cut openings.

The Dark Blues’ rhythm was certainly not helped by a succession of fouls and heavy challenges by an Inverness side who were still looking for their first win of the season.

The visitors did though have the best opportunities in the opening 45 with Andrea Mutombo passing up an early chance, heading wide and then on 23 minutes, Iain Vigurs shot past Dundee keeper Scott Bain’s right-hand post when he should have at least hit the target.

Bain then pulled off a vital diving save from a long-range Ross Draper shot shortly before half time.

However, the keeper was helpless to prevent Inverness taking the lead on the hour-mark when Caley captain Raven sent a superb curling shot from the edge of the Dark Blues’ box past the despairing dive of Bain and into the back of the net.

Dundee had a great opportunity to equalise in the 84th minute when they were awarded a penalty after blatant hand ball by Danny Devine who was lucky to escape with just a yellow card.

However, Fon-Williams dived to his left to save Greg Stewart’s spot-kick.

It looked like Inverness would hold on to take all three points, especially when McGowan mishit from point-blank range, but in stoppage time, Kane Hemmings burst through on goal to rifle past Fon-Williams.

The game had barely restarted when Mutombo was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Nick Ross.
