Paul Hartley has heaped praise on Dundee supporters for “buying into” what he is trying to achieve at the club.
Dundee set a season ticket target of 4,000 and the milestone was reached last week, with sales ending on a total of 4,011.
That figure was no doubt boosted by the solid start the Dark Blues have made to the season, being seven games unbeaten.
The Dens manager expressed his delight that so many fans have purchased their books to reach the target.
He said: “That was brilliant. There are difficult circumstances nowadays watching football in terms of finances so it was superb to see us reaching that target.
“Our fans have been so loyal over the years so we want to try to reward them by having a good team on the park.
“I think the supporters realise what we are trying to do here. They are coming out in big numbers and are travelling to watch the team.
“We want to have a team the supporters can be proud of and we think we are giving them that just now. But there is a long way to go.”
