Dundee United get Andrew Robertson payment from Hull City
ByIan Roache
Dundee United received some welcome news late on Friday afternoon when it was confirmed Hull City had finally paid the first part of the Andy Robertson transfer fee.
The Tannadice club’s bank account is now over £1 million richer than it was thanks to the Tigers eventually keeping their side of the bargain.
For their part, Hull apologised to United for what they stressed was a misunderstanding regarding how to pass on the initial payment of what will eventually amount to a £2.85 million deal for the Scotland left-back.
The Barclays Premier League side’s commercial manager James Mooney explained: “We sent the money to the wrong place. It went to the Premier League rather than the FA.”
The row now resolved, Robertson is set to continue the new, exciting chapter in his career by lining up for Hull at home to Stoke City on Sunday lunchtime in the televised game.
