One Dundee United defender is on the verge of leaving Tannadice on loan, while a former favourite could be about to return home.
Talks have begun with a view to Keith Watson joining Hibs through to the summer, and out-of-favour Huddersfield full-back Paul Dixon is available should Jackie McNamara decide he wants him.
The Watson deal is expected to go through, with the Easter Road club short of right-back options and United having brought Ryan McGowan on board.
Ironically, one of the other players Alan Stubbs has looked at is Mark Wilson, who was recently released by McNamara.
Should Watson make the switch to Edinburgh it is likely he has played his last game for United, as he is out of contract in the summer.
Dixon’s situation is more complicated.
Huddersfield boss Chris Powell is understood to be happy to let the 28-year-old leave, but even if McNamara does throw his hat into the ring, there are likely to be other offers for the Scotland international to weigh up.
