Former Dundee United man Garry Kenneth suffers serious knee injury

Bristol Rovers defender Garry Kenneth is expected to be sidelined for around nine months after picking up a knee injury in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Gillingham.

The struggling club confirmed yesterday that the former Dundee United player damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in the League Two clash.

A specialist yesterday confirmed the injury and the big Scot will now have an operation on Friday and will be out for up to nine months.

Kenneth joined Rovers in August after leaving hometown club United at the end of last season.

Rovers manager John Ward will now look to the transfer market as the club look to pull away from the bottom spot in the division.
