Forfar boss Dick Campbell admits he has attempted to put the bitter disappointment of his side’s play-off defeat at Alloa behind him and has now begun preparations for next season.

The Loons travelled to the Indodrill Stadium on May 17 with a two-goal advantage from the first leg at Station Park.

However, Danny Lennon’s side turned the tie on its head, winning 3-0 to preserve their Championship status despite going down to 10 men.

Over 800 fans had travelled from Angus to Alloa and Campbell admitted he was absolutely gutted for them.

He said: “My brother (assistant manager Ian) and I along with everyone else at the club simply felt that we had let all the fans down.

“The support was magnificent on the day and we had double the Alloa crowd.

“It really was a hard one to take from my point of view but I have had a week away and I am back up and motivated again.

“I am already working to bring in new players.

“The fans turned out in great numbers for all our play-off games and hopefully they will be also be back next season.”
