Forfar boss Dick Campbell to make changes after lacklustre display

Forfar may have won last week but the poor nature of their performance against Montrose was far from acceptable to Station Park boss Dick Campbell.

Which is why there will be changes to his starting line-up when the Loons travel to face Queen’s Park in the League Cup this afternoon.

Campbell had warned before the match against their Angus rivals last Saturday that there was no room for complacency in the Petrofac Training Cup tie.

However, his players failed to heed his warning although the veteran manager did concede that Montrose made things difficult for his players.

He said: “Montrose deserved everything out of last week’s game and we were lucky to win considering our poor performance.

“I had demanded that there would be no complacency from us but with Montrose still putting a squad together and being from the league below, the game was tailor-made for an upset.

“To be fair to the players, they are looking magnificent in training, as good as I have had for a long time.

“However, we are now in a situation and I am not being big-headed about this where teams fear us.

“Montrose tried to stop us playing and our keeper Rab Douglas didn’t really have a save to make.

“So the players will hopefully have learned from the game as we prepare to face Queen’s Park in the League Cup.

“I have had a few things on my mind after last week’s display and I have made changes.”
