Arbroath boss looks to Linn for goals

Arbroath boss Allan Moore is looking to the creative powers of Bobby Linn to help fire the Red Lichties back into the title race by seeing off Clyde at Gayfield today.

A pulsating start to the League Two season, which saw nine wins in 10 games, has become a distant memory as Arbroath have failed to win in 2015 and Moore is hoping that an in-form Linn will help his side recover after their 3-0 defeat at Montrose last weekend.

Moore said: “Bobby was the one bright spot in last Saturday’s game and he has carried that form on in training this week. It would be terrific if he could play like that again and help get the goals that will see us secure a win.

“The other boys that were scoring have gone off the boil so we will look to Bobby to build on the threat he showed against Montrose.”

The Gayfield boss admits that the loss of the cutting edge from his side has left him stumped as he explained: “We have tried keeping faith with players, we have tried dropping players and we have tried using different formations and partnerships but the goals are not coming.

“We have been saying that one win will settle us down but we have been saying that for a few weeks now. Winning the title is still in our own hands if we can start winning again starting against Clyde before meeting Albion Rovers next midweek.

“If we leave it much longer then we will run out of games.”

Moore added: “Clyde have improved a lot recently and have a decent sized squad so they will cope with the injuries they have picked up. The game will however be decided by what we do.”

Liam Gordon will miss out with a hamstring injury and Adam Hunter will also be absent with an ankle problem. Ricky Little is set to return.
