Montrose v Dundee United XI: Gable Endies bring in full-back from junior ranks

Montrose have completed the signing of full-back Ross Graham from junior outfit Dundonald Bluebell.

Graham who had two stints at the Fife club, as well as a spell at Ballingry Rovers, starred as the Bluebell squad reached the last-eight of the Scottish Junior Cup for the first time in their history earlier this year.

Links Park boss George Shields said: “I have been impressed with Ross and I am sure that he will do well as a Montrose player.”

Shields’ side take on a Dundee United XI and they have Terry Masson and Stephen Day available after the duo missed out on Saturday’s 5-1 success over Cove Rangers as they were attending weddings.

“This is our final game before we face Peterhead (in the Petrofac Training Cup) on Saturday,” said Shields before adding: “and we have to ensure that our game play is spot on.

“We started and ended well against Cove. However, there were parts in-between that were not as strong and we have to try and take that out of our game.”

“We performed well against the under-20 side of Dundee last week before losing to a late goal.

“I am looking for a similar performance tonight, but with maximum concentration until the final whistle.”

Shields added: “Peterhead are a strong team so we have to be in very good shape to have any chance of beating them.”
