St Johnstone are to formally register their dissatisfaction with Lee Croft’s shock two-match suspension.
Manager Tommy Wright made a brief comment on the issue, but the Perth club will elaborate on their position in a private letter to the Scottish Football Association.
Saints are not happy with the individual case and the general disciplinary process.
Croft will be suspended for tomorrow’s clash with St Mirren, as well as their Scottish Cup tie against Queen of the South in the New Year.
It is understood that SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan issued the ban after he was alerted to the Croft tackle on Ross County’s Liam Boyce by an anonymous source.
Wright said: “I’m extremely disappointed that this has come about.
“The incident wasn’t picked up at the time by any of the officials. In fact the referee didn’t even play an advantage.
“Even after the game there was no mention of it in my room by Jim McIntyre or Billy Dodds.
“I believe the club are writing to the SFA with our views of this specific case and existing procedures generally.”
