St Johnstone defender Frazer Wright would welcome some Dundee United deja vu after losing to the Tangerines on Saturday.
Saints travelled to Tannadice early last season only to leave defeated and dejected as their opponents scored four times without reply.
Rather than feel sorry for themselves, though, the Perth men subsequently rattled off four successive victories over their Tayside rivals including the big one the Scottish Cup final.
After going down 2-0 to the league leaders, Wright said: “It was the same last year when we came here and got turned over 4-0.
“We then went on a run of victories against them. It would be nice if that happened again after this defeat.
“We would be happy with that but for now we need to address the problems we have and see what happens.
“We don’t look like scoring and we are also losing sloppy goals that’s not a good combination.”
Saints’ lack of attacking options are clear for all to see and it would be difficult for any team to cope with the loss of talent like Stevie May and Steven MacLean to a transfer and injury respectively.
Wright bemoaned MacLean’s absence, saying: “When the ball goes up to Macca it stays there and he brings others into the play. We are probably a wee bit lost without him so we just need work on that.
“We are due to bring someone in and if we can turn to someone who has a good pedigree then that will give the boys a lift.”
Meanwhile, Wright played down a post-match exchange with some United fans as he made his way down the tunnel. He said: “I actually got off lightly because they were going for Ando (Steven Anderson) all game.
“It was just a bit of banter. It was all quiet in the game but at the end there I got a bit of stick. I can’t repeat what was said!”
