Marc Lefebvre is well aware of what to expect from Edinburgh Capitals having done his homework on the stats and via video.

He is also a former player, having been drafted in the 2009-10 season during the Doug Christiansen era.

Therefore, he knows the club well and he will not under- estimate the Murrayfield men who visit the Dundee Ice Arena on Saturday (face-off 7pm).

Surprise package Ryan Hayes leads the Elite League scoring charts with remarkable figures for a debut season in British ice hockey and the low-budget Capitals have two other players inside the top 10.

Lefebvre is mindful of the danger men in tomorrow’s game. His concentration is on maintaining his level of firepower and the 33-year-old considers it crucial that a number of his squad continue to score.

Last weekend, in the home win over Fife Flyers, three defencemen found the net, which pleased the coach.

He said: “Edinburgh have three or four quality guys who are scoring regularly.

“In our line-up we have a number of players who are scoring and that makes a big difference.”

At Kirkcaldy, Fife Flyers continue to monitor several players who have “bumps and bruises” following their 6-3 defeat at Dundee.

They entertain Manchester Storm, who are struggling to find their feet in Britain’s top league.

Danny Stewart, the associate player/coach, said: “We’ve had two close games against them and are aware of guys in their side who can cause problems.”

One of them is unquestionably centre ice Matt Caria, a British league rookie who is second in the overall points charts.

He has found the net regular so far this term, claiming 11 goals and 15 assists in 19 games for the North-West based side.

Fife’s top marksman is centre Ryan Dingle, who has scored 10 goals and recorded 10 assists in 19 starts to be at No 20 in the listings.
