Woman dies after crash on Kinross to Crook of Devon road

A woman has died following a crash in Kinross-shire early this morning.

The tragedy happened around 7amon the A977 Kinross to Crook of Devon road.

The woman who died was the driver of a dark grey Citroen Xsara, which was in a collision with a white pick-up truck.

The crash scene was shortly after the junction with an unclassified road leading to Tillyochrie.

The A977 was closed between Kinross and Rumbling Bridge while officers investigated the full circumstances. It reopened around 1.30pm.

Sergeant Debbie Allan, the officer in charge at the scene, said: “We were called to a road traffic collision on the A977 near Balado shortly after 7am.

“Currently enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the crash and I would ask any witnesses to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
