A bid to confiscate almost £1700 found in a drugs run car carrying a woman with crack cocaine in her underwear proved successful at Perth Sheriff Court.
The action under the Proceeds of Crime Act targeted the cash being carried by Shadia Wright (24) when she was found in the Lexus on her way to Aberdeen.
Wright, of Leicester, was in the company of three men known in the drugs trade when the car was stopped on the M90 between Edinburgh and Perth on November 23, 2008. In her handbag was £1390, £23 in her purse and a further £245 in the car.
The motion to confiscate the money was unopposed on Wednesday. It stated the group were targeting the Aberdeen area’s lucrative drugs markets.
Wright pleaded guilty in September 2009 to being concerned in the supply of nearly 30 grammes of crack cocaine but escaped a jail sentence because the Crown accepted she had merely hidden the bags of drugs in her underwear for the men when police stopped their car.
She received two years’ probation and 240 hours of community service.
