Dunfermline firm FMC Technologies has won an $80m contract for work in Angola.
The provider of technology solutions for the energy industry announced that it had signed an agreement with Total Exploration And Production Angola to manufacture and supply subsea production equipment in support of the Girassol Resource Initiative (GirRI).
The award has a value of approximately $80m in revenue to FMC Technologies.
The GirRI project has now reached a cumulative value of around $180 million in revenue to FMC.
Equipment supplied will support the Girassol field, off Angola in the Gulf of Guinea.
FMC will manufacture three subsea production trees, six wellheads and assorted flowbase and jumper equipment.
Deliveries are scheduled to start in the latter part of this year.
“FMC has enjoyed a strong and productive relationship with Total, especially with their offshore projects in west Africa,” said Tore Halvorsen, FMC’s senior vice-president of global subsea production systems.
“We are pleased to continue our support of the Girassol field and their other Block 17 projects, including CLOV, Rosa and Pazflor.”
Dan Neelon, well completion systems manager who is responsible for the subsea sites in Dunfermline, Glasgow and Aberdeen, said, “This is great news for our facility and we look forward to working with Total in this venture.
“All subsea production trees and wellheads will be designed and produced at our manufacturing facility and weld fabrication workshop in Dunfermline.”
He added, “This follows news last autumn that the company had signed a $520 million agreement with Total Exploration And Production Angola to build and supply subsea equipment for the CLOV development project in which FMC is manufacturing 36 subsea trees, wellheads and controls and supplying eight manifolds, two workover systems and associated tooling and equipment.”
