An Angus drink-driver has found out that bad news really does come in threes.
Appearing at Arbroath Sheriff Court on onday, Hakan Yildiz, a 33-year-old father of triplets, admitted driving at three times the legal limit, at around 3am, after a night of drinking on March 3.
Sheriff Derek Pyle called for reports and deferred sentence until April 3.
A motion for forfeiture of his car a Toyota worth £1,500 was refused.
The court heard the Turkish man, who lives at Gourdie Farm Cottages in Liff on the outskirts of Dundee, admitted driving with excess alcohol (106) mics on March 4, after attending a party at Carlogie Road in Carnoustie.
He further admitted driving without due care and attention, driving on the wrong side of the road, mounting a pavement and colliding with a wall.
Defence agent Nick Whelan said Yildiz had intended to leave the car at his friend’s house, but had been stopped by police who saw him moving it.
