East Fife remain contenders for a promotion play-off spot after dumping Peterhead into division three.
Reflecting on the Fifers’ 2-0 win at Balmoor, which confirmed relegation for the bottom-placed Blue Toon, Bayview boss John Robertson had respect for his team’s opponents.
“Peterhead were terrific in the last 10 minutes of the first half and in the first five of the second,” he said.
“Our second goal knocked the steam out of them and I think over the piece we deserved it.
“We believe we’re still in the hunt. All we can do is keep picking up points.”
Craig Johnstone opened the scoring for the visitors in 28 minutes when he connected with a Ryan Wallace cross.
David Muir slotted in the second goal from just a few yards 10 minutes into the second half.
