A MAN is to stand trial accused of battering a pregnant woman with a pole.
Michael Dunn is accused of attacking Joanne Dunn, who was then three months pregnant, in Dunholm Road, Dundee, allegedly repeatedly striking her on the body with a metal pole.
Dunn is then said to have “wilfully or recklessly” destroyed two TVs, four cups, a mobile phone and a Katana ninja sword with the pole, before then damaging a door frame.
Further charges allege that, on the same day in Bridgend Street, he damaged a car bonnet and window with a metal bar, assaulted Gary Sinclair with a metal bar and was in possession of an offensive weapon.
Dunn (48), of Bridgend Street, Dundee, denied six charges at the city’s sheriff court, said to have taken place on August 17.
A pre-trial hearing in January and two trial dates in February were set.
