The Hilton Hotel and Gala Casino will both be demolished as part of the waterfront project.
Dundee’s Gala Casino will close its doors next month.
The gambling firm is now in consultation with staff members after bosses delivered the news of the final closure last week.
It is not yet known how many workers will be affected by the closure, which has been forced as part of the redevelopment of the city’s waterfront.
A Gala spokeswoman said: “I can confirm the casino in Dundee is going to close on February 16. We are now in consultation with staff.”
Dundee City Council agreed to spend £8.5 million to buy the site of the Gala Casino and the Hilton Hotel as part of the waterfront regeneration project.
The cost is being met from the capital budget as part of the £1 billion project.
