Dundee United are set to unveil Jackie McNamara as their new manager, Courier Sport understands.

McNamara and Steve Pressley emerged as the frontrunners for the post at the weekend.

After a deal was agreed to terminate Peter Houston’s contract the path was clear for chairman Stephen Thompson to make an appointment, and he has opted for the former Celtic defender and Partick Thistle boss.

It is expected there will be a Tannadice press conference on Wednesday morning.
