IT IS not every day a Hollywood A-lister turns up in Rosyth.
However, following in the footsteps of British royalty, acting royalty in the shape of Sir Ben Kingsley paid a visit to Babcock’s dockyard and surprised some of the workers building the new aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth.
Mysteriously, the Oscar winner perhaps most famous for his portrayal of Gandhi was actually visiting in order to learn more about the historic Fife shipyard.
While he was there he was also given a guided tour of the aircraft carrier under construction.
Heavy handling engineer Alex Keatings said: “I did a double take when I saw him. The last person you expect to meet on a cold Monday morning in Rosyth is a Hollywood star.
“He was really interested to learn more about the work we’re doing.”
