A motorist spotted weaving around the road in his powerful 2.8-litre BMW is facing a 12-month driving ban.
Perth Sheriff Court heard, on Monday, that Victor Abrecht Von Werra, of Drummond Street, Comrie, had taken a cocktail of prescribed drugs including Diazepam, Methadone and Tramadol before getting behind the wheel.
The 61-year-old claimed he had been passed fit to drive by his GP and the DVLA, but police were called after he was spotted drifting around the A85 Crieff to Comrie road on December 5 2012.
Witnesses reported he only narrowly avoided collisions. Von Werra was stopped in Crieff and gave a negative roadside breath test, but police officers were nonetheless so concerned by his demeanour they arrested him.
Sheriff Kenneth McGowan found Von Werra guilty of driving while unfit through drugs. He will return to court for sentencing on March 10.
