Dundee-based independent food and drink wholesaler CJ Lang & Son has picked up the best delivered operation (retail) prize at the 2014 Scottish Wholesale Achievers awards.
The family-owned firm, which has its headquarters in Longtown Road and which operates over 100 SPAR stores across Scotland, was also named as runner-up in the best symbol group and marketing categories at the awards, which were hosted by Scottish news anchor Catriona Shearer.
Sales director Bill Mair said “CJ Lang has been a consistent winner of Achievers awards over the years and it is testament to the sterling efforts of our great staff and retailers that we continue to perform so well.”
Kate Salmon, executive director of the Edinburgh-based Scottish Wholesale Association, said: “No single business can get everything right we can all learn something from our industry counterparts.
“This is one of the reasons we established Achievers 12 years ago. But while the initiative has evolved to chime with changes in the trade, its ethos remains the same to encourage best practice within Scottish wholesaling.”
