A man has made a private court appearance in connection with an Angus attempted murder charge.
John Wallace (36), of Bank Street in Kirriemuir, is facing a petition alleging attempted murder and three separate charges of assault, all involving the use of a knife, after an alleged incident in the town’s St Malcolm’s Wynd on Sunday.
Appearing from custody at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, Wallace was also charged with breach of the peace and possession of a knife.
The accused, who was represented by solicitor Mike Short, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.
A motion for bail was refused by Sheriff Kevin Veal.
