A war memorial which paid tribute to former pupils at a Mearns school who had died in conflicts has been dedicated.
Lathallan School in Johnshaven held a special service of remembrance which saw the new memorial unveiled in the school’s foyer.
Five former pupils lost their lives in the Second World War, one was killed in action in Korea, two in Cyprus and one in Borneo.
Alastair Shepherd, chairman of the Old Lathallian Association, said the young age of the men who died would resonate strongly with pupils at the school their average age was 22, with two men still teenagers when they died.
