Dundee boss Barry Smith isn’t panicking about the lack of a new loan signing at Dens Park.
An experienced central midfielder is his top priority as a result of Gavin Rae’s departure to Aberdeen but he hasn’t managed to land anybody yet.
It isn’t a great cause for concern, however, he insisted.
Smith pointed out: ”I’m happy with the squad I’ve got. Obviously I want to add to it because it’s a wee bit thin in terms of numbers, but the boys who have been playing are more than capable of getting more good results.”
Smith reported that Friday’s closed-doors game against Dunfermline proved to be a worthwhile exercise.
He explained: ”Everybody got a game. We didn’t pick up any injuries and the boys got a good run-out. They’re all really looking forward to the Hamilton game on Saturday.”
The Dark Blues were due to face Falkirk a week tonight but the match has been postponed because the Bairns will be playing a rearranged Scottish Cup tie against Ayr that night.
