Businessman found guilty of assaulting former wife

A Dundee businessman has been found guilty of assaulting the wife from whom he parted last year.
On Wednesday, Gary Harper (62), Perth Road, was convicted of the assault on Sally Cameron at an address in Fairfield Road, Broughty Ferry the location of their marital home on December 11.
He was found guilty of assaulting Miss Cameron by punching her on the face and seizing her by the arms, to her injury.
Sheriff Marion McDonald deferred sentence in the case to September 13 and called for background reports.
Harper was a leading figure in the Dundee city centre regeneration project in the 1990s. He was involved in the redevelopment of the former Royal Hotel in Union Street into flats and a similar project at former newspaper offices in Bank Street.
Miss Cameron was also involved in a number of businesses in the city. They included the former Galleon Bar and a neighbouring newsagent and coffee bar called Xpresso in Whitehall Crescent.
