KINGDOM householders have been reminded there will be no wheelie bincollections on December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2.
Bins usually emptied on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be emptied on the Saturday and Sunday before (December 22, 23, 29 and 30).
Fife Council recycling centres will also be closed on the four holidays.
There will be no special collections between Friday December 21 and Monday January 7 but bookings will be taken from January 5.
People were also thanked by the local authority for their patience during the transition to the twin-shift rubbish collection service, which sees bins beingemptied between 6am and 9pm.
The new hours were introduced on October 15 to save money withoutcutting jobs.
Senior manager for environmental operations, Roddy Mann, said: “The new service was introduced to 170,000 premises in one go and overall the change has gone very well.
“Around 97% of households moved over to the new extended hours without a hitch.
“There have been a few minor issues in rural areas and with some commercial collections.
“However, as with any new service, snagging issues are inevitable and these are being sorted out as crews become morefamiliar with routes.”
