A Kirkcaldy shopkeeper was injured and “left shaken” after armed robbers brandished a knife at him.
Police in Fife are appealing for the public’s help in tracing two men who made off with a three figure sum of money from the convenience store in the town’s Templehall area.
The shopkeeper, who is in his twenties, sustained a minor injury to his hand in the incident at Sidlaw Grocers in Sidlaw Street. He was treated by ambulance staff at the scene.
It happened at around 5pm on Sunday.
The men threatened the shopkeeper with a knife before stealing money from the premises.
The first suspect was described as white, aged 20 to 35 years old and around 5ft 9in tall. He was wearing a dark-grey hooded top.
Police said the second man was white, aged 20 to 35 years old and around 5ft 11in tall, and was wearing a dark jacket with fur around the hood.
Detective Constable Ryan Balsillie of Kirkcaldy CID said: “This was a shocking incident for the shopkeeper, who was understandably left shaken, and I want to reassure local businesses that a thorough investigation is currently under way.
“As part of our inquiries, I’d urge anyone in the community who may have seen these men in the area, who recognises their descriptions or who has any information which could be relevant, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
