Sir,– As a resident of Perth City South ward I note with interest a leaflet from the Lib Dems, portraying the SNP as “cheerleaders for independence”, with the clear inference that the SNP locally have achieved nothing. This claim seems to require us to disregard the facts.
Sir, -I am writing in response to the article (October 31) regarding Perth and Kinross Council’s ongoing review of Beechgrove, Parkdale and Dalweem residential care homes.
Sir, - During the recent controversial legal battle between the RSPB and Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) over the Neart na Gaoithe (NNG) offshore wind turbines, we have witnessed via articles and adverts numerous beneficial claims by MRP in relation to local job creation and investment in Scotland associated with the £2 billion planned development.
Sir, - I refer to George Sangster’s letter (November 6) in which he advises that it costs the council £300 to get its waste oil container emptied.
Sir, - I write in a personal capacity as a member of Howe of Fife RFC for more than 50 years.
Sir, - Keith Howell’s letter regarding Catalonia and Scotland (November 2) makes one wonder if he has taken in the events of the past weeks.
Sir, – Both Richard Lucas and Les Mackay (Thursday’s Letters) are correct that the Westminster harassment furore shows low personal standards of conduct. However, the parliamentary abuses just mirror the decline in our own morality and probity as a society.
Sir, - I write with reference to the letter from Martin Redfern (October 31) concerning Sir Brian Souter’s donations to the SNP and his campaign to keep section 2a in law.
Sir, - Congratulations to Dr David Summers of the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board, the board members over the past few years and their staff, on the success of their long and arduous campaign to restore the River Garry to a salmon-producing river once more.
Sir, - I write with reference to your article about NHS Tayside confirming the ending of endoscopy procedures at Stracathro Hospital (October 26).
