Scotland’s beauty industry is set for growth this year, partly due to an upturn in male grooming.
More than 30% of the 2,600 companies surveyed for the Beautiful Britain report expect to increase their workforce this year, and more than half of Scottish salon managers were more optimistic about their prospects than last year.
About the same numberreport a rise in male customers in the last 12 months requesting hair and beauty treatments.
Alan Revitt, of survey backer Salon Services, said: “The results of this year’s survey tell a great story in Scotland and hint at the beginnings of economicregeneration sprouting across the region.
“These salons are testament to the importance of innovation and expandinginto new markets for defying the downturn.”
