The chairman of electronics retailer Dixons is ste for a new challenge at housebuilder Barratt Developments.
John Allan will join the the company’s board on August 1 as a non-executive director and chairman designate and will take over the top job following Bob Lawson’s retiral on November 12.
In previous roles, Mr Allan was chief executive at Exel for 11 years and served as non-executive director with National Grid and 3i.
Mr Allan said he was delighted with his new appointment. “Recent performance has been very strong and I look forward to leading the board and supporting the management team in developing the company’s strategy and performance still further,” he said.
