Piperdam’s Hoseasons deal promises jobs and visitor boost

The Piperdam Golf and Leisure Resort is hoping its new holiday programme will boost the local economy — by attracting swathes of new visitors to the Tayside area.

Hoseasons have picked Piperdam as one of only six flagship parks in the UK to promote Go-Active Breaks and a total of six new posts — two full-time and four part-time — will be created to enable the complex to supply these services.

But Piperdam, already employing 98 staff, may extend the payroll a further 10% to cope with demand.

Clare McNally, product development manager, said benefits had already been felt at the other five resorts piloting Go-Active Breaks.

“There has been an increase in bookings and sales on site and more people have been staying in the area,” she said. “It has had a very positive impact on the local economy and it should do the same in Dundee and the surrounding area.

“If there is a hub of activity other businesses in the area will benefit too such as B&Bs, hotels and shops.

“We will also be promoting sports in the area that Piperdam does not provide such as horse riding.

“Across the board we could be looking to increase our staff by 10%.”
