The deadline for applications for the Scotch Beef Farm of the Year award run by AgriScot and Quality Meat Scotland has been extended to October 16.
Beef producers in Scotland are being encouraged to come forward to win a cash prize and the title of Scotch Beef Farm of the Year.
Applications are also sought from others working in the industry who can nominate a farm, or farms, they feel merit the award.
Strong interest has been shown in terms of inquiries and, to maximise entries, the entry deadline has been extended by two weeks.
Last year’s winners were Robert and Jacqueline Neill, Upper Nisbet, near Jedburgh.
Again, a winner is being sought who can showcase excellence as well as build confidence in the future for all those working in the Scottish red meat industry.
AgriScot and QMS work together to deliver the award, in which the winner receives a £500 cheque plus a £250 voucher to celebrate at a Scotch Beef Club restaurant. The award will be presented at AgriScot at Ingliston on November 20.
For an application form email info@qmscotland.co.uk or call Kirsty McCormack at QMS on 0131 472 4040. To be eligible the farm must be a member of the QMS Farm Assurance Scheme.
