Sainsbury’s Bank has officially opened its new customer service contact centre at  Caledonia House in Rosyth.

The  development brings customer service operations in-house with the creation of the bank’s first dedicated contact centre.

It also and follows the purchase by J Sainsbury plc of the Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) 50% share of Sainsbury’s Bank in 2014.

About 125 staff who previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group in nearby Pitreavie have relocated to Caledonia House in Rosyth.

They have joined existing Sainsbury’s Bank staff with more to come through relocations which will put the eventual staffing at Caledonia House up to about 300.

Caledonia House on Innova Campus in Rosyth has 21,000 square feet of space boasting modern facilities, staff restaurant and break out areas, as well as ample parking.

Peter Griffiths, Sainsbury’s Bank chief executive, said: “We are very proud to have such a talented and committed customer service team and now they have a suitably impressive environment in which to work.

“Opening Caledonia House demonstrates the long-term commitment we are making to our colleagues in Fife as well as the potential for future employment opportunities.”

Fife Council economy and planning spokesperson Councillor Lesley Laird commented, “It is great to see the commitment Sainsbury’s Bank continues to make to Fife, delivering  not only local employment opportunities but also wider economic and community benefits.”

Sainsbury’s Bank has increased its business across Scotland, recently partnering Dundee-based financial technology firm i-design which provides customer engagement solutions and advertising media services.

The deal saw the roll-out of on-screen digital marketing in all 1700 Sainsbury’s Bank ATMs across the country.

The development allows Sainsbury’s Bank to provide real-time product information and offers, as well as gain valuable customer insight.
