A hotel renovation lasting more than a year and costing more than a million pounds at Hotel du Vin in St Andrews is now complete.
The work to upgrade the 42-bedroom hotel started last March. The refurbishment took place in stages to minimise guest disruption.
And the bedrooms have been redecorated to reflect the local landscape.
Hotel du Vin describes the colour scheme as “soft muted greens from the surrounding grasslands and earth tones that echo the sand and stone of the coastline”.
A total of £1.1 million was spent on improvements at The Scores hotel.
This also included work refreshing the bistro and bar area. This area has new carpets and tiles with its furniture was reupholstered.
Hotel du Vin on staying at forefront in St Andrews
The hotel said the investment was to ensure it remains “firmly positioned at the forefront of the town’s exceptional hospitality scene”.
General manager Andrei Secuianu said: “We are the custodians of a place with great heritage and we’ve modernised it with care, drawing on the character of the coastline and the traditions of the town.
“The hotel continues to feel like it belongs not just to guests, but to St Andrews itself.
“It’s also home to some of the best hospitality in Scotland and that keeps us striving to evolve.”
Investments in St Andrews
The former St Andrews Golf Hotel reopened as Hotel du Vin in 2014 as part of a £3.5 million redevelopment.
More money was then invested on a new accommodation block to add 18 bedrooms.
The bedroom upgrades wanted to blend comfort with character. It is the 12th Hotel du Vin property to be upgraded in the last five years.
Chief operating officer Scott Harper said: “In today’s hospitality landscape, staying relevant isn’t just about investment, it’s about intent.
“The refurbishment at St Andrews is part of a much wider revitalisation of the Hotel du Vin portfolio.
“It also reflects our belief that great hospitality evolves with its environment.
“This project is a clear expression of our commitment to thoughtful design, long-term stewardship, and keeping Hotel du Vin at the forefront of the UK lifestyle hotel sector.”
Nearby hotel Seaton House opened earlier this year after a multi-million-pound investment.
