Roadworks to cause closures on A92 between Dundee and Arbroath

Drivers between Dundee and Arbroath will be hit with three weeks of roadworks from this Sunday.

Work will be carried out at four locations on the A92 at Ethiebeaton Roundabout, the eastbound A92 from Balgillo layby to Panmurefield, the westbound section from Balmossie to Balgillo and the westbound approach to Ardestie Interchange.

Almost 2.5km of carriageway will be resurfaced, creating “a safer and smoother journey for motorists” according to BEAR Scotland.

The improvements will see overnight road closures in place for the first five nights for safety at Ethiebeaton Roundabout, from 7pm to 7am.

Eddie Ross, operating company representative for BEAR Scotland said: “This resurfacing programme is essential to ensure the continued safe use of these areas on the A92.

“The improvements, funded by Claymore Roads, are part of our long term A92 road maintenance programme and will help to ensure that the route remains fit for purpose for years to come.

“We will do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum during these works and have planned the project to take place overnight as well as avoiding the busier Friday and Saturday nights.

“We would however encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance, leave some extra time for travel and ask them to drive carefully through any traffic management which is in place for their safety.”

No works will take place on Friday and Saturday nights.

Diversions will be in place for the Ethiebeaton closure while work at all other locations will be carried out using a 10mph convoy system for safety during working hours.
