Services through Tayside and Fife are still being affected after a woman was struck and killed by a train in the Scottish capital last night.
The incident took place at South Gyle railway station in Edinburgh at about 9.30pm last night, with the line between Inverkeithing and Haymarket closed until 11.30pm.
Trains heading for Fife, Perth and Dundee were all affected by the tragedy last night.
The incident also meant that several services have been reduced to two carriages today.
The following routes have been affected: the 5.25pm Dundee to Edinburgh, the 5.22pm Edinburgh Queen Street to to Falkirk Grahamston, the 5.11pm Queen Street to Carnoustie and the 6.22pm Falkirk to Edinburgh.
The investigation following the death meant that trains had ended up in the “wrong places” this morning, a Network Rail spokesman said.
He added this had led to the “knock-on effect” throughout today.
