A leading supplier to the Scottish poultry industry has expanded its premises in Forfar as it continues its rapid growth.

Having secured a six-figure funding package from Clydesdale Bank, T Pak Ltd has recently moved into a 1.9 acre site, with a 24,000 sq ft fit-for-purpose facility, as the company had outgrown its previous warehouse.

Company director Robert Thompson grew up on his family’s farm and has worked in the poultry industry for 38 years. He launched the business in 2004 and his oldest son, Andrew, joined him in 2009.

He said: “Our business is quite specialised as we supply replacement laying stock, egg packaging and packaging accessories, along with a huge range of items used on a modern poultry unit including all the cleaning and hygiene materials to businesses – both small independents to large companies supplying the supermarkets.

“We now have the right sized facility for our needs.

“With so many of our suppliers based in Europe we are better placed to deal with the challenges that Brexit will present.”
