A leading investment specialist has extended its reach by opening a further office in Blairgowrie following a strong period of growth for the business.

Scott James Wealth Management, a representative of St James’s Place Wealth Management, was founded four years ago and is headquartered in the heart of Aberdeen’s west end.

It supports clients and their families to protect and enhance their wealth through sound financial advice, with the team predominantly covering Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Perthshire and Tayside.

The business has benefited from a 40% increase in funds under active management during the past 12 months, rising to £53.5 million. This follows significant growth in each of the preceding two years.

This has allowed the business to open an additional office that will serve the needs of customers in Perth, Kinross, Tayside, Fife and the Lothians.

The new office

Located on Leslie Street, Scott James Wealth Management has taken ownership of the St James’s Place practice formerly run by Alan Learmonth prior to his move to England.

The business appointed an experienced financial adviser, Graham Smith, earlier this year.

He will head up the new operation along with administrator, Sorcha Bruce, who has worked in the office for the past two years and will provide continuity to clients.

In addition, Scott James Wealth Management recently held a launch event at the Dalmore Inn & Restaurant in Blairgowrie to introduce members of its team to new and existing customers.

“I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to grow the business into a new part of the country and look forward to the chance to meet, build and strengthen relationships with clients over the coming months,” says Scott James.

“Between us, Graham and I have over 50 years’ experience in financial services.

“We can assure customers that they will receive the same high level of service and wealth of expertise available through the St James’ Place approach that is proven to help clients achieve their goals.”

Graham Smith, who hails from Edinburgh, brings a wealth of expertise in retirement, investment, protection, estate and tax planning. His career in the financial services sector spans nearly 30 years, largely in the central belt.

He is a fully qualified adviser with a level four diploma in financial services and is currently working towards chartered financial planner status.

“With my dad living in Rattray, I have a great affinity for the area and look forward to getting to know as many of the local people as possible over the weeks and months ahead,” says Graham.

“Working alongside Scott and the rest of the team, we are aiming to develop the practice by bringing new clients on board and providing unrivalled service to our existing clients that helps them achieve their goals and aspirations.”
